Anita Sue Maine Ashlock
February 1, 1957 — December 21, 2022
Anita Sue Maine Ashlock, 65, passed away at her home on December 21, 2022. She was born February 1st, 1957 in Beagle, Kansas to Russell and Lois (Richardson) Maine. She was one of nine children.
Anita attended Waverly High School and graduated in 1975. She was a licensed practical nurse for many years, then acquired her bachelor’s degree in education and became a teacher. She married Terry in 1992 in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Anita enjoyed achievement through hard work and was always busy. She loved her network of friends at Greenbrier Nazarene Church, where she was very active in Operation Christmas Child. She had a real talent for crafting, which she made into a hobby by creating art and beauty from things she would pick up at flea markets and yard sales.
Anita’s faith in God was the foundation of her life, and it kept her smiling even in the most trying times. Her joy in Christ was her daily companion right up to her last days here.
She is survived by her husband Terry, two children, Amy (Justin) White, Quitman, AR, Andrew Ashlock, Clarksville, AR, two grandchildren, Addison (21) and Cason (12), eight brothers and sisters, Nancy (Tom) Merrell, Springdale, AR, Ruth (Mark) McNabb, Bastrop, TX, Mary Collins, Waverly, KS, Bonita (Stanley) Case, Clarksville, AR, John (Pam) Maine, Gypsum, KS, Rick (Debbie) Maine, Fruitport, MI, Ken (Cyndee) Maine, Wichita, KS, and Loretta Maine, Cave Springs, AR, 27 nieces and nephews, and numerous extended family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents. All who knew her, know our loss.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on January 2nd, 2023 at Greenbrier Nazarene Church in Greenbrier, AR. A celebration of life is also being planned in Waverly, KS in the Spring of 2023 for friends and family who are unable to attend in January.
