Ashley “Biscuit” Jaylen Pearson was only 15 years old when she went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 23, 2023, following a 19-month battle with glioblastoma. She was surrounded by her family at their home in Greenbrier, AR. She is known to those who love her as someone with a contagious smile, a witty personality and a person who never met a stranger. Ashley is also seen as a warrior who battled this awful disease with a smile while living life to the fullest. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) was her favorite Bible verse and helped her push through her more difficult days. She faced cancer with a resilience and courage that inspired her friends, family, and community members.

Ashley was born in Conway, AR on May 29, 2008. Christ was at the center of Ashley’s heart. She enjoyed being in church, spending time with fellow youth to celebrate her faith and reading her Bible. She was an avid softball player with a dream to play for the Florida Gators softball team one day. She enjoyed the friendship and teamwork of playing softball alongside her peers and valued her uniform number #25. Biscuit was a sophomore at Greenbrier High School and hoped to play this school year. Biscuit loved to travel and some of her favorite places to go were Texas, the beach, as well as water and amusement parks. Make-A-Wish Foundation granted Ashley’s wish of visiting New York City, where she and her parents were able to see a Harry Potter Broadway show, the 9/11 memorial and many other sights. This was a huge highlight for Biscuit as it was on her bucket list.

Biscuit was a lover of all things yummy- Mojos, Starbucks, Crumbl Cookie, sushi, gummy bears, and most definitely chocolate milk, which she was sure to drink every single day since she was a toddler. She was excited to go to Matthews Park to roller skate and talk to her friends on the phone. Biscuit couldn’t watch enough scary movies and enjoyed dressing up for Halloween. She enjoyed all things Harry Potter and her favorite color was purple. Biscuit was blessed to have her dad as her best friend and cherished their time together regardless of what they were doing. Watching football on Saturdays was something she and her family looked forward to year-round and she was a huge Florida Gators football fan.

Ashley was preceded in death by her mother, Valerie Pearson, brother Salem Torres, maternal grandmother Karen “Kacie” Harrison, paternal grandparents Rudy and Irene Pearson and also grandfather Verlon Farmer.
