Avis Alene Brock

Avis Alene Brock, 82, of Quitman went to be with her Lord
Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2011 at her home outside Quitman,
Arkansas.  Born August 9, 1929 in Damascus.  She was the
daughter of the late Albert and Ollie Bell (Holland)
Burroughs.  She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Sand
Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by, her husband of 56 years, Raymond
Brock, her parents, and two brothers, Nymph Burroughs and Carl
Burroughs.

She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Jordan (husband
Sylvester) of Quitman, and Charlotte Melton of Searcy; three sons,
Dennis Brock (wife Linda) of Quitman, Erwin Brock (wife Marilyn) of
Quitman, and Nelson Brock (wife Melissa) of Greenwood; one sister,
Mavis Valentine of Bee Branch, and one brother, Clifton Burroughs
of Donaldson;  13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2
great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by numerous
nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, November 26,
2011 at Sand Springs Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy. 124 West,
five miles west of Quitman, with Bro. Reagan Shearer and Bro. Nick
Parish officiating.  Burial will follow at Sand Springs
Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday, November 26, 2011, at
Sand Springs Missionary Baptist Church starting at 12 noon until
service time.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy John Ward, T.J. Stark, Destin Brock,
Bobby Stark, Seth Brock, and Brock Bunch, and honorary pallbearer
Robbie Brock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sand
Springs Missionary Baptist Church or Sand Springs Cemetery Fund.
