Betty Joyce Wilson, 89, of Conway, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday morning, August 1, 2023 in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Wilson Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama whom she followed all over the world during his military career; her parents, Grover Palmer Taylor and Ora Leona Taylor, both of Brundidge, Alabama; siblings Evelyn Lee, Carolyn Osteen, Lorenza Taylor, and Jerry Taylor, all of South Alabama; son-in-Law, Dave Taylor of Anchorage, Alaska; grandsons, Jordan Wilson of Conway, Arkansas, and Elliott Taylor of Anchorage, Alaska; great grandchildren Taylor Davis and Asher Davis both of Huntsville Alabama. She is survived by three children, Jim Wilson (Melanie) of Elkmont, Alabama; Peggy Taylor of Anchorage, Alaska; Ken Wilson (Dawn) of Conway, Arkansas, and four grandchildren Everett Taylor (Sarah) of Anchorage Alaska, Hope Davis (J.D.) of Huntsville Alabama, Candace Hancock (Mark) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Joshua Wilson of Conway, Arkansas; as well as five great grandchildren, Wilson Hancock, Anna Hancock, Jack Taylor, Claire Taylor, and Sabastian Davis. Betty is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing, crochet and looking through numerous cookbooks and magazines remembering everything she had done for others in the past. The family is comforted by knowing that Mom is in the presence of Her Savior and Lord, and that she has been reunited with her parents and loved ones whom she missed so deeply, especially in the last few years of her life.
Thanks to the many friends and caregivers who cared for her, especially the staff at Greenbrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center over the last year.
A family interment will be held later at the Alabama National Cemetery.
