Billy James Davis Sr.

Billy James Davis SR. departed this world for heaven on July 19,2018 in Searcy, Arkansas. Billy was born June 16,1955 in Porterdale, Georgia to Theodore Festus and Ophelia Anniebell (Allen) Davis. He was raised in Georgia. Billy was baptized in Jesus name and received the holy ghost at a young age. In 1986 Billy married Rita Faye Beach. The couple then moved to Arkansas in 1989. From their union came two sons, Billy James JR. and Jesse Allen Davis. Billy had a variety of jobs but his favorites were firefighting, driving the school bus for Mountain View School District and working at T.D. Home Center. He always had a smile or a kind word to all. Billy Davis was a member at the United Pentecostal Church of Fox. He loved working the sound system and helping fill in as a teacher for the church. His favorite hobbies were listening to southern gospel music and telling stories of his firefighting days along with driving a tow truck and school bus. But his favorite stories were that of his kids. He was a loving person, he never met a stranger. If there is one thing we can take away from this man is to treat everyone with kindness and love. You’ll never have to wonder what his last words were to you, “Love you.” Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Faye (Beach) Davis. Two loving sons Billy J and Jesse and his wife Amy. Three grandchildren Brentley, Tate, and Paysley all of Mountain View. Two brothers Teddy wife Wanda and Ronnie wife Annie of Covington Georgia. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Roger Davis. Services to remember and celebrate Billy's life there will be a visitation on Saturday July 28, 2018 12:00-2:00 and funeral following the visitation at 2:00, at the Antioch Baptist Church in Fox, Arkansas. Arrangements by Bishop-Crites Funeral Home Greenbrier, AR. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Dodd Mountain Fire Department.
