Bonnie Lee Brickey, 70, went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2026. She was born in North Miami, Florida to Donald Helms and Carolyn Bates Helms.
Bonnie passed away surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life well lived. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives.
Bonnie had a special gift for caring for children and found great joy in nurturing and loving those around her. She never met a stranger and had a warm, welcoming spirit that made everyone feel like family. Her heart was especially devoted to her grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure. She spoke of them often and cherished every moment spent with them.
Bonnie had a creative soul and enjoyed making beautiful crafts, especially door wreaths and personalized picture arrangements for friends and loved ones. She found happiness in giving to others and expressed her love through thoughtful gifts. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes, particularly when it came to buying for her grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite season, and she delighted in finding the perfect gifts for those she loved. Her family often joked that she "shopped until she dropped," but they knew every purchase came from a heart overflowing with love.
She also enjoyed traveling, making memories wherever she went, and she had a special love for all things Disney, which brought out her joyful and playful spirit.
Most importantly, Bonnie was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church and had a deep passion for the Lord. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was evident in the love, compassion, and generosity she showed to others. She lived as an example of Christian kindness and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now resting in the arms of her Savior. Her legacy of love, faith, generosity, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Bonnie will be forever loved, forever remembered, and greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Donald Helms.
