Burton Roger Hjelden, 82, of Greenbrier went to be with his Lord on September 16, 2018. Burton was born on February 16, 1936 in Madox, North Dakota to the late Elmer and Isabella Hjelden.
Burton was married 56 years to the love of his life, Shirley Hjelden. Burton served in the United States Army, worked for many years for Nabholz construction, and was an owner operator truck driver for over 50 years. He was very family oriented and loved his family.
Burton was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hjelden; parents, Elmer and Isabella Hjelden; siblings, Eldora Harlen, Jessie Hjelden, Paul Hjelden, Helen Stalvik, Larry Hjelden, Sidney Hjelden, Russell Hjelden, Dorothy Robe’rt, Darwin Hjelden, and Robin Hjelden.
Burton is survived by his son, Roger Hjelden (Tina) of Greenbrier; daughters, Becky Philpot (Rick) of Jacksonville, Victoria Dwiggins of Conway, Melissa Palmere (Jeff) of Conway and Christina Elrod (Mike) of Greenbrier; siblings, Vern Hjelden (Marge) of Oklahoma, Ronnie Hjelden (June) of Minnesota, Lloyd Hjelden (Pat) of North Dakota, Barbara (Al) Solberg of Minnesota, Marlene Perti of North Dakota; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Bro. Danny Fagala. Burial will follow at Needs Creek Cemetery.
