Carthel Pearce went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 19, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on July 19, 1941, in Enola, Arkansas, to the late Barney Pearce and Martha Pate Pearce.
Carthel was a man of strong faith, deep character, and a love for life that was evident to all who knew him. He was self-employed for many years, worked at CDI, and later retired from Nabholz. His work ethic, dedication, and reliability were well known to all who worked alongside him.
He was a faithful member of Flat Rock General Baptist Church for several years and later attended Millers Point. He also served his community as the Mayor of Quitman for several terms, always striving to make a positive impact.
Carthel loved the simple pleasures of life—riding horses, traveling, watching westerns, playing cards, and sharing lunch with family and friends. He especially cherished time with his grandchildren, whom he lovingly gave nicknames to. His family was his world, and he made sure they knew it every day.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Barbara Pearce; and his loving children: Johnny Pearce (Shanna), Greg Pearce (wife), Mike Kimble (Denise), Kenny Kimble, Keith Kimble (Janie), and Kathy Passmore (Johnny). He is also survived by his siblings: Ruth Hodge, Gayle Swaim (Lewis), Janice Kincade, Ricky Pearce (Joan), and Tommy Pearce (Paula); along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by three children: Calvin Pearce, Glenn Kimble, and Debbie Ford; three siblings: Jessie Pearce, B.H. “Sonny” Pearce, and Ellis Nell Murdock; and two grandchildren: Justin and Jason.
Carthel’s love for life, sense of humor, and devotion to his family will be remembered and treasured always.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Guy, AR. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards at Brown Cemetery in Enola.
