Charles Francis Powers, 91, of Heber Springs passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, in North Little Rock. He is survived by four children: Anne (Terry) Altepeter, Frank Powers, Susan Cook, and Lorraine (Rob) Fulton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters: Dolores Grow, Kathryn Leeds, and Rosemarie Becker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Powers, the mother of his four children; his parents, Frank and Katherine Powers; two brothers, Raymond and Frederick; and his son-in-law, John Cook.

Originally from Chicago, Mr. Powers worked for many years in sheet metal and as a real estate broker before retiring to Heber Springs in the 1990s. He was a history buff, with particular interest in Native American history and artifacts along with American history. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and duck hunting. Hobbies included collecting coins, model cars, and planes, as well as model railroading. Mr. Powers was a pilot and loved to travel. In 1968 he took his family on a summerlong camping trip throughout Alaska and the western Canadian provinces. He was an engaging storyteller and enjoyed country-western dancing.

No funeral services will be held. Interment will be at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Mr. Powers had numerous beloved pets over his long life. His family suggests memorial donations to the local Humane Society.
