Cowles Allen Horton Profile Photo
Cowles Allen Horton, of Conway, Arkansas died suddenly on June 9, 2020 at the age of 43.

Cowles was born to Bob and Patricia Horton on February 18, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, his wife Shannon; his son Brandon Canady, wife Christina, and grandchildren Christopher and Jonathan; his daughter Summer Horton and grandchild Ariel; and his son Lance Horton; his sister Renee Horton, nephew Kayden; and his brother Rox Horton, as well as many other extended family and friends.

Cowles loved his family, outdoors, and sports. Whether watching his favorite Razorbacks or playing with local friends, he was a diehard fan of everything athletic. He was always ready to shoot some hoops, throw a ball, or play golf.

He was the type of man that would drop everything to help a friend or stranger. A friend to all, Cowles loved people. He gave generously with little thought to himself. If he knew of a need, he was ready and willing to help.

His family has chosen a few memories to share.

We all have agreed that one of the best photos of Cowles is a fairly recent picture of him holding his youngest grandchild, Ariel. He took her trick or treating at Smith Ford. She in her Minnie Mouse costume and he in his iconic Razorback gear, their smiles stretched ear to ear. This photo captures the vibrance and life of Cowles.

While thinking back, we couldn’t help but notice the pride in Cowle’s face whenever he stood next to his children as they reached their goals. Whether it was Lance as a Cub Scout or Summer and Brandon graduating high school, he couldn’t contain his pride. Cowles loved his family fiercely.

That love extended to his marriage. Shannon and Cowles have been inseparable since they found each other, and truly did life together. Looking back at their wedding day, there was a solid love that ran deep. They were baptized at the same time later on in their marriage. Wherever Cowles went, he wanted Shannon at his side, because he truly loved the person he’d chosen to live his life with.

The memories have continued to surface this week for everyone who knew Cowles. His life was too short on this earth, but he truly touched a wealth of lives. He will be forever loved and missed.
