Daniel J. J. Warner went to be with the Lord Jesus Wednesday, October 11, 2023. He went peacefully in his sleep. He had no known illness. He was 86 years old. Mr. Warner is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughters, Dorothea Bjoge and Dana Curry; and son William.
He is the son of the late William E. Warner and Dorthea Cate Warne. His siblings are Beatrice Minor, Charles C. Warner, Irene Barber, Susan Barber, David P. Warner and Helen Sullivan.
He was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on May 2, 1937, at Notre Dame Hospital. He attended St. Raphaels and Parmer Grammer Schools, college St. Joseph in Quebec. Canada, Bishop Bradley and Manchester West High Schools. During this time, he joined the U.S. Navel reserve Construction Battalion (Seabees), where he took courses in electricity. When he mustered out 8 years later, he was at the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer, Construction Electrician. During his summer vacations he worked as an electrician’s helper for an electrical contractor. After high school he worked for Foster Grand Plastics and M.K.M Knitting Mills and Spraque Electric Components as a maintenance electricians’ helper. From there to Holiday Inn Manchester as head of maintenance. At this time, he left Manchester and settled in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Working for the Dravo Company on Nevel Island in the Ohio River, a maker of tug/tow boats and barges. He was promoted through the rates of 3rd, 2nd, 1st class electrician working nights for 5 years 4:30 to 11:30. From there Mr. Warner moved to Miami, Florida where he worked for the city of Miami Beach as an electrician and then as an electrical inspector. It was at this time while his brother, David visited him, coming from a 3 day stay in Pinecrest Bible Training Centre that Mr. Warner received Jesus Christ and become Born Again.
After this and before 6 months Mr. Warner enrolled at Pinecrest. It was as a result or call from God, a Pinecrest brochure that his brother had left on his dresser would light up every time he walked by it. Mr. Warner intended to come for only the full summer program but ended up staying 5 years. He graduated both the summer program and the 2 year program, he then became the supervisor of maintenance. A year after arriving, his brother also came. Also, at Pinecrest Mr. Warner met and married Ellen who was head of the business office. They had their 1st daughter, Dorothea, while at Pinecrest.
From there Mr. Warner moved to Melbourne, Florida where he and Ellen had two more children. He then took a position as an electronic technician with the city of Melbourn’s Water Treatment Plant. He was there for 23 years. He also became an evening teacher of apprentice electricians at the local community college. Mr. Warner was active in the churches he attended. Upon retiring from the city, he moved back to Pinecrest to complete his 3rd year. He was also in the Helping Hand Program where he remained until yesterday.
