Donald Jason “J” Ball, 54, of Greenbrier, AR, made his way to gangster’s paradise on July 9, 2026. He was born on February 14, 1972, in Anniston, AL to the late Speedy Ball and Elaine Miller.

Jason always had a little swagger, humor and heart and lived his life on his own terms, made everyone laugh, and was one of a kind. Some people spend their lives trying to fit in. He spent his making sure he stood out. Jason loved watching Family Guy and South Park and could quote any movie there was; it was the main language of the Douglas-Ball family.

Jason grew up in Anniston, and at a young age he lived at a Christian boy’s ranch and that shaped his life with lessons he carried through his life. His love for his family and grandkids was obvious to everyone around him. Jason and Christi met through work; he wore her down; they were married six weeks later and would have celebrated 34 years in October. Immediately, Jason took Chris and Shelby as his own; and was never a stepdad, he was a step up. He was proud of his 3 kids and supported and loved them with every move they made. The Ball’s moved to Greenbrier in the summer of 2003 and truly made a home here for their family. Jason retired in 2017 and began his favorite hobby of tending to his garden and raising his chickens. Jason loved being in the water. He took his role of being Pop Pop very seriously; he played dress up, raced hot wheels, and could fix anything that they needed. He taught every one of the grandkids how to ride their bikes and he was so proud of that. He had so much patience with them. Jason was the most matrix dressing, bald headed gangster there ever was, and no one will take his place.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Christine “BB”; son, Chris Doulas-Ball (Carleigh); daughter, Shelby Caudle (Christopher); daughter, Gabby Shaw (Zack); grandchildren, Hartlee, Kayleigh, Jude, Kane, Haven, Hazer Bug, Haizlee, Izzy Rue, and Rip; and brothers, David White and Joey Duncan.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 13 at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.
