Donald William Rintoul, 76, of Bee Branch suddenly and unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, March 22, 2015. He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. Papa Don as everyone knew him was a wonderful husband to Cathy Rintoul, a great dad to Edward Stewart and Jenny, JoAnn MacRae and Mac, and Shela Reese. A wonderful grandpa to 6 grandchildren, Melinda Schiller and Bryant, Nicki Ward, and Cliff, John McGeary and Dr. Natalie Laniewicz, Andrew Stewart, and Sarah, Bobby Reese, Katie MacRae and 5 great grandchildren, Brody Schiller, Kaylah McGeary, Iain McGeary, Liam Stewart and Anthony McGeary. We could not have been blessed more. It was/is an honor to have had him in our hearts and lives.
Don was born on July 9, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was raised in the Godfrey, Illinois area and worked for Shell Oil Research and Development in Houston, Texas for 35 years. He served our country proudly in the Army Reserves for 5 years. After retiring from Shell Oil, he and Cathy moved to the beautiful mountains of Arkansas. He loved gardening, tinkering in the barn, feeding the birds and of course his family.
We all have funny Papa Don stories and wonderful memories that we will cherish forever but the greatest gift we have is the promise from God that we will be together again. Papa Don was everyone's rock, and a wealth of wisdom.
He was our measuring stick, if Papa Don approved you knew it was a go. If he didn't he would tell you and you would learn another life lesson.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Victor Oliver and Edna Rose (Brecht) Rintoul and brother Richard Rintoul.
Graveside services will be 2pm Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Companions Spay & Neuter Clinic,Greenbrier, AR
