Doris Faye Howell, 83, of Greenbrier, AR, woke up in Heaven on January 25, 2026. She was born on January 24, 1943, in North Little Rock, AR to the late George and Lois Fisher.

Doris was a graduate of North Little Rock High School and was employed by the Arkansas Democrat newspaper shortly after school. She married her beloved Tommy on September 12, 1964, and they began the sweetest life together. After their daughter, Melissa was born she became a homemaker, up until January of 1984 and then began her 40-year career as a bookkeeper at Central/Moon Distributors until her retirement in August of 2024. Doris was the most devoted mom and wife you could ever imagine. Tommy and Missy’s hobbies were her hobbies, and she supported and cheered them on in any way she could. That is until her grandson, Caleb, was born; and Tommy and Doris’s real passion was revealed. Being PawPaw and MawMaw were truly their favorite titles, and they played those roles so very well. Ballgames, vacations, and anything else Caleb was involved in... you could find them in the front row; they truly were his number 1 fans. Tommy and Doris were charter members of LifeSong Baptist Church. They celebrated 50 years together, upholding their marriage vows to each other, until the Lord called him home in January of 2015. As Doris began navigating life without Tommy; Caleb’s marriage to Rebecca in 2019 and the birth of her great granddaughter in 2021, Adalyn Faye, became the bright spots in her life – bringing renewed joy, purpose, and love to her days.

She now joins her husband, Tommy, and her parents.

Doris is survived by her daughter Missy (Michael) Corrigan; grandson, Caleb (Becca) Corrigan; great granddaughter, Addie; brothers, George (Judy) Fisher and James (Susie) Fisher; sister-in-law, Wadette Matthews; and multiple nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service in her honor on Monday, February 2nd at 10:00 am at LifeSong Baptist Church; a private graveside will follow. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1st, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.

Doris's love for her church and animals were very important to her so in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to LifeSong Baptist Church, Faulkner County Humane Society, or the Faulkner County Animal Shelter.
