Dorothy Marie Reed, 87, of Greenbrier, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2025. She was born in Colt, Arkansas on December 11, 1937, to Imon Earnest Cummings and Joy Marie Luker Cummings.
Dorothy graduated in 1955 from Forrest City High School. She married the love of her life, Edward Reed, on June 11, 1955, and lived in Cross County Arkansas before moving to Wooster where her and her husband built their own home where they raised their family. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for many years. Dorothy worked at Tiffany and Company, she also retired from the Conway Human Development Center and later Dororthy and her daughter Brenda opened a children’s Day Care, where the family ran it for many years. Dorothy stayed busy and active her whole life she also volunteered at the American Cancer Society. The family built a fishing barge where Dorothy spent countless nights on Beaverfork Lake fishing with her family and friends. She had many hobbies and loved shopping, fishing, working flower beds, canning, quilting, sewing, and caring for their dog Rascal. She loved life and had amazing willpower for everything she did, but most of all she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her daughter, Brenda Ethridge; parents, Imon and Joy Cummings; sister, Wilma Dean Gwatney; brothers, Delton Cummings, Larry Cummings and son-in-law, Glen DeWald.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Edward Reed; children, Joyce DeWald, Linda (Jack) Weston, Randall (Leigh) Reed, Margie (Charles) Campbell, Skyler Reed, and Shelby Reed; three grandchildren, Randy Reed, Nikki (Walter) Edwards, and Amanda Graham; great grandchildren, Logan Cardenas, Emma Cardenas, and Alexis Reed; siblings, Willene Harding, Willard (Carolyn) Cummings, Ivan (Michelle) Cummings, Millard (Carol) Cummings, Arlis Cummings, Becky (Curtis) Swanson, and Billy Cummings; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home with burial following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Brother Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating.
Pallbearers are Skyler Reed, Logan Cardenas, James Wallace, Mark Mahan, Gary Smith, and Tory Hawkins.
