Doyle Guy Kimbrell Jr.
Doyle was born in Marshall, AR on July 12, 1941. He was delivered by his paternal grandmother, Arizona Ragland Kimbrell. Doyle Sr, and Abbie welcomed their only son to their family of four daughters; Mildred Freeman, Juanita Kelley, Margaret Laymon, and Ruby Hulsey, and two more daughters; Edna Sitton, and Gladys Kimbrell came after Doyle.
Doyle loved the Lord and was a good Christian man who also loved his family.
Doyle met Shirley Horton in October of 1960; they were married May 12, 1961. Doyle started laying brick in Marshall in 1965 with a crew from Dallas, TX. He laid brick in Dallas for ten years, returning to Arkansas, he worked in Conway, for over fifty-five years. Both of Doyle’s sons started working with their dad before they were teenagers, laying brick most of their careers. His daughters even helped one summer and laughed to this day, that they got a great tan.
He was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, he fought a courageous battle, and this last Tuesday, he had a stroke and then had a serious surgery. Doyle did everything he could to stay here with his family, but the good Lord called him home at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, surrounded by his family.
Doyle had a very special relationship with his granddaughter, Jennifer. She has special needs, and does not say very much, but she loved her Poppy and was very close to him. They shared a love for tacos.
Doyle and Shirley have always said their life with their family has been like heaven on earth. Always close, never apart, never bickering, just love for each other. Which they feel like has been a great achievement for sixty-three years.
Doyle is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Johnny; his four sisters; and his son in law, Mark Tillery.
