Dwight Brown, Sr.

Dwight Brown, Sr. 77 of Quitman, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2026. He was born January 27, 1949 in Grand Glaise, AR to the late Robert C. Brown and Elizabeth Brown.

He was a freshwater shell diver, enjoying life on the river, and passed that along to the next generations, especially to his son, Dwight, Jr. He was a loving father with a large family. He was a perfect family man. He will be missed by them and his community. He was always there to help anyone in need. Even though he wasn’t very educated, he wanted his family to be educated. He was a self-educated mechanic and enjoyed working on old cars and restoring antique tractors.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Brown; son, Dwight Brown, Jr.; daughters, Tammy Travis (Edward) of Quitman, Sharon Sliffe of Searcy, Melissa Lilly of Scotland; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters and other family.

There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6 at Marcus Hill Baptist Church with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Marcus Hill Cemetery.
