Edward Leon Reed

Edward Leon Reed, 90, of Wooster, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2025. He was born July 21, 1935, in Big Dixie, Arkansas to the late Lewis and Lorraine Reed.

Edd finished high school at Wynne, Arkansas in 1955, where he played on the football team. He and Dorothy married shortly after finishing high school. For several years they lived in Cross County, Arkansas, then moved to Wooster, Arkansas where they raised their family. Edd worked in various occupations including bus maintenance at Wynne High School, Nabholz construction as the superintendent over equipment, and he was a volunteer in civil defense. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, he loved gardening with a passion, and he loved to read his Bible. Edd built their home where they loved to host friends and family. He and Dorothy spent their entire lives together; they were the definition of soul mates. They had a marriage that most people dream of.

Edd was preceded by his wife of almost 70 years, Dorothy; his daughter, Brenda; his parents; his siblings, Howard Reed, Delina Reed, and Donald Reed; and his son in law, Glen Dewald.

He is survived by his children, Joyce Dewald, Linda (Jack) Weston, Randall (Leigh) Reed, Margie (Charles) Campbell, Skyler Reed, and Shelby (Tucker) Stewart; his grandchildren, Randy Reed, Nikki (Walter) Edwards, and Amanda Graham; his great grandchildren, Logan Cardenas, Emma Cardenas, and Alexis Reed; and his sisters, Erna May Taylor and Trudy (Ricky) Maddox.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 9th at 10:00 am, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home with a burial following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 8th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, also at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.
