Evert Von Newton

Evert Von Newton, son of the late John Henry Newton and Argie Hickman Newton, was born on September 1, 1925 at Hand, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers. He departed this life on October 9, 2019 at the age of 94 years and 1 month.
Evert was united in marriage to Pearl Harris on May 27, 1947 at Mountain Home, AR. He spent his working years as a drywall contractor in Sacramento, California. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Evert was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as Decan for 10years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII with the 3rd Fleet in the South Pacific.
Evert leaves behind his wife, Pearl Newton of Greenbrier, AR; one son, Ronald Newton and his wife Donna of Greenbrier, AR; five grandchildren, Priscilla Klosky and husband Kent, Jeremy Newton and wife Jennifer, Joel Newton and wife Elizabeth, Elisabeth Lindsey and husband Todd, and Missy Newton; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Gabe and Bryson Willis and Jonah Klosky, Cain, Nate, Talon, Nick, Lando, and J.J. Newton, Emmalee, Hannah, and Zeke Newton, Jeremiah, Isaac, Lillyanne, and Annarose Lindsey.
Visitation will be held at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
Service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00am with burial following to Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
