Gary Dale Scroggins
April 29, 1944 — November 7, 2023
Gary Dale Scroggins, 79, of Greenbrier, AR, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 7, after a 25-year battle with Parkinson’s. He was born April 29, 1944, in Conway, AR, to the late Jess Scroggins and Geraldine Hallett Burks.
Gary was a fighter and survivor at an early age, having survived polio at 16. He then owned a general store and service station followed by a 30-year career with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.
Gary enjoyed working, tinkering in his workshop, listening to gospel music, and playing checkers. He loved the Lord and always looked for an opportunity to share the gospel. Gary enjoyed serving as a deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister Patsy Healy. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Cloedean Cotton Scroggins; daughters, Carrie Milholland and husband Myron of Greenbrier, AR, and Cathy Davis and husband Josh of Springdale, AR; grandchildren, Ross (wife Lindsey), Della, James, Rylie and Claire; brothers, Bobby, Johnny, Charles and Michael; and sister Barbara Mountjoy.
Visitation will be Friday, November 10 at 1:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm with Brother Freddie Mark Wilcox and Dr. Martin Jameson officiating. Private burial to follow.
Pallbearers will be Myron Milholland, Ross Milholland, James Milholland, Josh Davis, Thurl Smith and Jody Smith.
