Gerald D. Henderson, 87 years old, passed away on May 13, 2023. Gerald was born on November 8, 1935, to Paul and Ebner Henderson. He graduated from Conway High School in 1953 where he played football and track. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1958 with a B.S. in Education. He also played football for the Razorbacks for four years and was a member of the 1954 Southwest Conference championship team known as the “25 Little Pigs”. Gerald served in the U.S. Army as 1st Lieutenant. After coaching football at Lewisville, AR, he began his successful career as a salesman for Mitchell Machinery where he retired. He loved his family and the outdoors enjoying hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Henderson, Jr.; daughter, Connie Brewer; grandson, Coley Clay; granddaughters, Julia Eidson, Savannah Henderson and Faith Clarke.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nell Henderson; daughters, Tambra Clement and Chandra Stevenson; son, Ernest Henderson; grandchildren, Ernest Henderson, Jr., Layla Henderson, Angel Henderson, Summer Henderson, Kandice Wilson, Brandon Eidson, Heather Graham, Hillary Sue, Chase Clement, and Keith Clement, and 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Roberts.
A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Conway Cowboy Church in Conway, AR.
