Glenn O. Dewald

On September 15, 2023, Sergeant First Class (Retired) Glenn O. DeWald of Mayflower,
AR passed away after briefly battling cancer. He fought with courage and dignity until
the very end. He was born on November 11, 1942 in Waterloo, NY and lived in
Bloomsburg, PA until he joined the United States Army. Glenn served his country at
home and abroad, including a tour in Vietnam. After his retirement in 1980, Glenn
became both a welder and a draftsman before returning to law enforcement, where he
served as a Deputy Sheriff in Calhoun County, AL. After his second retirement, Glenn
settled in Mayflower. After the passing of his wife Marty in 2010, Glenn met and married
Joyce Reed in 2015. Glenn is survived by his wife Joyce, his children James, Bertha
and LaRue; his brothers Larry and Irving; sisters Jane, Sharon, and Sally; and many
grand and great-grand children. His brother David, proceeded him in passing.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.
Graveside will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10:00am at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
