Glenn Earl Schenk

Glenn Earl Schenk, 89, of Conway (formerly of Greenbrier) died Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Conway Regional Hospital. He was born January 23, 1935, in Hazen, Arkansas to the late John and Lorena Gray Schenk. He was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School. After serving 21 years in the Air Force, he retired as a SMSGT and returned to Arkansas to farm in Monticello. Farming also took him to Hamburg, Pickens and Augusta. Glenn retired from farming and moved to Greenbrier. While farming in southeast Arkansas, Glenn served on the Drew County and Ashley County Farm Bureau Boards. He also volunteered for the Arkansas Red Cross Disaster Team.
Also preceding him in death were his son, John Dale Schenk; his brother, J.C. Schenk Jr.; and his sister, Evelyn Waters.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Ann Schenk, whom he married April 9, 1960; his three daughters, Linda (Doug) Weatherford of Dumas, Laura (Todd) Lock of Greenbrier, Leslie (Ray) Doss of Cabot; his six grandchildren, Erin (Chance) Creighton of Little Rock, Paul (Catie) Weatherford of Del Mar, California, Emily (Jeffrey) Mahan of Damascus, Jessica Doss of Conway, Ross (Blaze) Weatherford of McGehee, Garrett Lock of Chidester; two great grandchildren, Tyler Creighton and Dalleigh Mahan; his brother, James (Martha) Schenk of Monticello; his sister, Kay Schenk of Hamburg; several nieces and nephews; and many other friends and family.
Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 11:00am on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home with burial following at 1:00pm at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas with Brother Steve Thrasher officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Weatherford, Todd Lock, Ray Doss, Chance Creighton, Paul Weatherford, Jeffrey Mahan, Ross Weatherford, and Garrett Lock.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Glenn Schenk’s memory.
