"G.W." Gus William Pool

Gus William Pool (G.W.) was born May 16, 1934 in Rusk, TX to the late Tom and Frances Pool. He received his wings of glory on November 18, 2022.
GW is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patsy Pool, spending the last 53 years in Damascus, Arkansas. He was a dedicated husband with an unexplainable deep love for his bride.
He has five daughters, Frances Dorsey of Lufkin, TX, Diana (Leon) Burroughs of Damascus, AR, Polly (Michael) Ingram of Enola, AR, Patty (Jimmy) Plummer of Florida and Tina (Doug) Leggett of Damascus, AR. He has eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, continually growing family, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Frances Pool, his siblings Kenneth Pool, Coy Pool, Joy Dobbins, Emma Deglopper and one grandchild Bethany Hitchcock.
He was an extremely loyal and dedicated provider for his family. He was always willing to take care of his family no matter the task, whether the need included changing tires, pulling a car from the ditch, working on a daughter’s car all night so she could make it to work or let his home go while he made needed repairs to a child’s home. All the kids and grandkids knew he was strong and strict but he had a heart of love, a hug for comfort and a lap to rest in.
He accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior around the age of 42, joined Sand Springs Missionary Baptist Church through baptism and was an active worker in the church for his remaining years. He has been a dedicated servant for The Lord, a strong Christian witness and is well loved by many.
He spent his years as a knowledgeable mechanic and was well known for being a farm mechanic. He enjoyed commercial fishing, hunting, camping and taking other for the new experience of commercial fishing. He held his commercial fishing license and spoke of these experiences throughout the final days of his life.
He’s clucking on a hundred now on streets of pure gold.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.
Service will be on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 2:00pm at Sand Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Gaylon King officiating, burial following to Sand Springs Cemetery.
