James “Jim” King, 85, of Conway, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 11, 1940, in Conway, Arkansas to J.D. King and Martha Merriman King.
Jim lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and his career in law enforcement. On August 27, 1960, he married the love of his life, Joyce, beginning a marriage that would be the foundation of his life and a testament to lasting love and commitment.
Jim proudly served the State of Arkansas for 33 years as a member of the Arkansas State Police Troop A. During his distinguished career, he worked as a Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Sergeant from 1976 to 1992. His dedication, professionalism, and investigative skill earned him the respect of those who worked alongside him. During his career, he also completed specialized training with the FBI and received a certificate recognizing his achievement. After retiring from the Arkansas State Police, Jim continued serving others by opening his own private investigation business, Jim King Investigation, which he successfully operated for 20 years.
Outside of his professional life, Jim was known for his discipline and energy. He loved working out and rarely missed a day, always committed to staying active and healthy. He was a loyal supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks, cheering them on faithfully whether they were having a winning season or a challenging one.
Jim’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He loved his grandchildren dearly and found great happiness watching them play sports and celebrating their accomplishments. Those who knew Jim will always remember his wonderful sense of humor and the laughter he brought into every room.
A man of deep faith, Jim was saved as a young child and was raised actively in church. Since 2004, he had been a faithful member of Springhill Baptist Church, where his faith continued to guide his life.
Jim touched many lives throughout his lifetime and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his service, his devotion to family, his strong faith, and the kindness and humor he shared with everyone around him. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
He is preceded by his parents, J.D. King and Martha King and one brother, Joe D. King.
