James Clifford Johnston

James Clifford Johnston, 65, of Greenbrier, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Conway, Arkansas on April 23, 1959, to Jim and Ann Johnston.
Cliff was a 1977 graduate from Greenbrier High School and was a huge supporter and avid fan of the Greenbrier Panthers and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was very involved in his grandchildren’s activities; he never missed an opportunity to attend a game or spend time with them. Cliff was over the Greenbrier Peewee Football Foundation and coached for many years, often times from outside the fence when he would get kicked out. He was a member of LifeSong Baptist Church, he loved his church family and filling up the pantry box any chance he got. Anyone that met Cliff knew he was larger than life and had the gift to make you feel good and laugh. His gift of gab and his love for helping others helped him throughout his many years in the car business. He lost a large part of his spark when the love of his life, his wife, passed in 2021. He loved her beyond words and longed for the day he would be reunited with her again. This has brought the family great comfort knowing that they are together once more.
He is preceded by his beloved wife of 43 years, Sharmon Lynnette Johnston; mother, Ann Johnston and sister, Chrissy Johnston.
Cliff is survived by his children, Jaime (Jason) Hamerlinck, Jase Johnston, Tori Martin, and Jameson “Clay” (Meagan) Johnston; grandchildren, Logan (Laken) Johnston, Madi Hamerlinck, Hayes Hamerlinck, Shelby Hamerlinck, Mason Martin, Marisa Beach, Maidie Beach, and Bric Beach; great grandchildren, Piper Johnston and Ellis Johnston; father, Jim (Ruth) Johnston; sister, Debi Ethridge, Cheryl Linn; brother, Craig (Shawn) Johnston and a host of family friends.
Visitation will be 10:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at LifeSong Baptist Church in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
Service will be at 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at LifeSong Baptist Church in Greenbrier, Arkansas with burial following to Oakland Cemetery with Brother Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating.
Pallbearers are John Moore Jr., Steve Ostrowski, Richard Weaver, Nick Wallace, Ryan Lessig, and Cody Ethridge. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
