Jerry Lynne Turner

Jerry Lynne Turner 83, of Greenbrier, AR, went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2026. He was born in Wilmington, DE, but spent most of his life in Salisbury, MD where he graduated from Wicomico High School. 

He married the love of his life, Katherine Bowen Atkinson, in 1964. He raised two girls, Kimberly and Kelly. 

He loved sports and played baseball and basketball growing up. That led to playing county and church softball and basketball as an adult. Also refereeing and umpiring those two sports for the county and church leagues for years. He also helped coach his daughters in sports for their Christian schools. He was a very avid car lover from his teenage years on, loving to look at car magazines, and watching car shows. He occasionally wanted to drive like a racecar driver. 

He was a member and involved heavily in Parkway Church of God in Salisbury, driving the church bus on Sundays, teaching Sunday School and leading youth programs. 

He loved gospel music especially the Gaithers and listening to his favorite preachers during the week in his spare time. 

After retiring and moving to Arkansas he had a part time job working at a storage facility where the customers often would remark on how kind he was and how he would pray with them when they came in. 

Though gone from this earthly life, he is present with the Lord. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, “Kit”; his daughters, Kimberly Lynn Burcham (Jim) and Kelly Bowen Price (Dustin); 7 grandchildren, 4 great grand children and several step grandchildren. As well as extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7 with service at 11:00 a.m., held at First Baptist of Damascus in Damascus, AR.
