Joan (Jody) Leroy O'Neal

Joan (Jody) LeRoy O'Neal passed away February 21, 2022 in Conway, Arkansas. She was born on August 8, 1945 in Danville, Illinois to the late Marie Ferris LeRoy and Graydon (Rip) LeRoy. She married Charles O'Neal and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her were her parents, her sister Marlene LeRoy Pratt, and brother Chester LeRoy.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia LeRoy Fermon and brother-in-law John Fermon of Danville, Illinois; daughters Mary Marable of Clinton, Arkansas and Angie Anders of Rogers, Arkansas, and her son Chip O'Neal of Conway, Arkansas; grandchildren Shannon Hill and Brian Langley of Vilonia, Arkansas, Erin Anders of Rogers, Arkansas, Jessica Anders of Niceville, Florida, and Blake Anders of Rogers, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; dear friends; and her beloved dog Soda.
Jody graduated from Danville High School. Later in life, she took computer courses at University of Central Arkansas. Jody worked at school bus manufacturer I.C. Corporation in Conway, Arkansas from 1978-2008 as a parts handler. She was a passionate member of the United Auto Workers union.
Jody found joy in the first robins of spring. She loved watching birds and took delight in her rose bushes and daffodils in early springtime. Jody was loved by her many friends and family, and will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas. Graveside service will be Friday March 4th at 2:00pm in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville, Illinois alongside her mother and father.
