Joan M. Burkett, 66, of Plumerville, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. She was born on April 21, 1948 in England to the late Homer and Esther (Sawrie) Burkett. She was a very loving person and a wonderful aunt. Joan enjoyed taking care of her yard and her flowers.
She is survived by four brothers, Markcus Burkett and wife Brenda, Melvin Burkett and wife Idel, all of England, Kenneth Burkett of Star City, Wilbur Moran of Plumerville, sister, Erma Gene Weaver of England, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and a host of friends.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Betty Moran, Lois Phillips and baby sister Johnnie Lea Burkett, a brother, Franklin Burkett; sister-in-law, Jewel Burkett; brother- in- law, Clayton Weaver; and a nephew, Curtis Burkett.
Funeral services are set for 2:00p.m, Friday, December 19, 2014 at Plumerville First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Plumerville Cemetery with Brother Bill Brown officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
