Joe Neal Chappelle, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully passed away at his home on August 30, 2026. Born on July 4, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas, to the late Claude and Inez Chappelle, Joe’s life was a testament to kindness, compassion, and an enduring love for family, friends, and animals.

Joe’s early years were spent growing up in his family home alongside his siblings, Ella Mae David (Harmon), Deana Guillen (Ernest), Mary Bany (widow) and Jerald Eugene Chappelle (Diane). On May 4, 1980, in Northwest Arkansas, Joe married the love of his life, Beverly Porter. Their marriage spanned 46 beautiful years, marked by devotion, companionship, and mutual respect. Together, they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and the memories they shared.

For many years, Joe was a dedicated employee at Walmart, where he worked as a buyer and in sales promotion until 1991. After leaving Walmart, he pursued his passion for animals and spent his days showing quarter horses, a pursuit that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. Joe’s love for animals was evident to all who knew him, as he never hesitated to open his home to any stray animal in need, offering them the care and love they so deserved.

Though Joe and Beverly did not have children of their own, Joe’s generous spirit, warmth, and love touched the lives of those around him. He shared a special bond with his nephew, Anthony Porter (Amanda), and great-niece, Presley Porter, who held Joe dearly in their hearts. They will forever cherish the memories they shared and carry forward the love and kindness he so freely gave.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Claude Leon Chappelle. As those who knew and loved him mourn his passing, they find comfort in the memories he leaves behind and in the many lives he touched throughout his years. Joe will be remembered for his integrity, his steady and caring nature, his love of animals, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need.

Joe Neal Chappelle’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and love. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. A private funeral service will be held at a later date with family.
