John Thomas "Tommy" Smith Profile Photo
John Thomas “Tommy” Smith was born on September 18, 1940, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to his late parents, James and Thelma Smith. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne and Billy Smith.

Tommy graduated from Watson Chapel High School and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged. Following his service, he dedicated 40 years of his career to AP&L/Entergy before retiring.

Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Sheryl Smith, and their children, Shawn (Kimberly) Smith and Stacy Lawson. He was a devoted grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Cara, Jordan, Tristan, and Charlee. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and dear friends.

Tommy had a deep love for traveling to the Rocky Mountains and sharing stories of his adventures. More than anything, he found joy in sharing the word of Jesus, Our Savior, with those around him.

On February 13, 2025, Tommy closed his eyes on earth and opened them in the heavenly realm, now walking with Jesus.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care provided during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tommy’s honor to Alzheimer’s Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 61 Green Valley Dr, Greenbrier, AR 72058.
