John Michael Stephens, 63, of Guy, Arkansas, known by his loving family and friends as “Big John” and a true “gentle giant” went to be with the Lord and Savior on April 12th 2023. He was born March 29, 1960 on Whidbey Island, Washington State to the late C.R. and Mozella Stephens.
John is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Henry L. Patterson of Wooster, Arkansas.
John was of the Baptist Faith; he loved the Lord and his family. John enjoyed his cooking, family get togethers, gardening, and loved the great outdoors and you could often find him on his four-wheeler down by the creek with his beloved dog, Brutus. John opened his own cabinet shop Stephens Cabinets and Doors in 2001 where he took great pride and joy in his work.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 43 years, Debbie Stephens; children, Ashley Nichole French (Jessy), Kevin Michael Stephens (Amy); grandchildren, Kayla Williams, Emily Dickson, Braydon Sineath, Emma Stephens; great great children, Hadley Mae Dickson and Harlee Jo Dickson; siblings, Jimmy Stephens, Jerry Stephens, Joann Beasley (Brian), mother-in-law, Jean Patterson; brother-in-law, Andrew Patterson and Colin Patterson; nieces and nephews, Natalie Patterson, Grant Patterson, Hope Closser, and Matthew Beasley; his best buddy and loyal companion, Brutus; and a host of extended family and lifelong friends.
John’s visitation will be held Sunday, April 16th from 2:00-4:00pm at Wilcox Family Funeral Home, and graveside service will be, Monday, April 17th at 1:00pm at Copperas Springs Cemetery.
