Joseph Keith (J.K.) Mode Sr. of Guy, AR, hung up his hat for the last time on April 14, 2026, in the comfort of his home. He was born on September 11, 1961, in Downey, CA to the late Eulon Mode and Barbara Louriero.
J.K. worked in construction up until 1987 and then began his own businesses; Road Running and Mode’s Truck Repair; driving dump trucks for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and playing cards with Bogie. He loved working on the big rigs and made sure to teach his kids a thing or two about that; their daughter, Carnella, learned how to walk in a Peter Built, all the kids could be found in diapers or shorts working on those rigs. J.K. most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and making memories with them.
He is preceded by his parents; his daughter, Carnella Mode; and his grandparents, Fabar and Julie Mode, and Troy and Onita Barnum.
J.K. is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tammie; his children, Joseph (Kristen) Mode Jr., Colleen (Nathan) Thompson, and Harley Mode; grandchildren, Jennah Mode, Kamryn Mode, Joseph Gilby, Brynnleigh Gilby, Ember Thompson, and Ames Thompson; brother, Calvin (Brenda) Mode; sister, Melody (Ron) Simmonson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
There will be a funeral service on Saturday, April 18th at 1:00 pm at Wilcox Family Funeral Home. With a visitation an hour prior at 12:00 pm.
