Kirk "Corky" Forest Murphy, 80, of Quitman, Arkansas was called to his heavenly home on February 2, 2023, surrounded by family after a long battle with Parkinson's and strokes. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Corky grew up in Long Beach, California where he was raised by his late parents, Catherine and Thomas Murphy. Kirk attended Long Beach Poly High School and Christ For The Nation's Bible College in Dallas, TX. In 1988, Kirk met his wife, Maran, fell in love, got married and moved to Arkansas. He loved to hike the trails at Woolly Hollow State Park, watch the Razorbacks, and cheer on his children and grandchildren in everything they did. Kirk was a member of Marcus Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Enola, AR.

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Luke Forest Murphy. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Maran Murphy; daughter, Kelli Murphy, of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Elizabeth Murphy, of Bettendorf, IA; daughter, Emily Carlton (Cary), of Quitman, AR; son, Casey Murphy, of Quitman, AR; son, Amos Murphy (Veronica), of Quitman, AR; daughter, Sara Murphy, of Quitman, AR; seven grandchildren, Bailey, Emma, Luke, Aria, Bubba, Cash, and Montana; brother, Mike Murphy (Fusako), and niece and nephew Mena and Tommy of Guam; sister, Bridgette Ritthaler (Mark), and nephew, Shane of Arizona; and numerous extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at UAMS in Little Rock, Baptist Health in Heber Springs, Arkansas Hospice and the doctors and nurses that provided such great care for him during the past several years.
