Larry Neill
Bates 79 of Plainview passed away April 5, 2014. He was born
January 23, 1935 in Foss, Oklahoma to Fred Bates and Juanita Scott
Bates.
Mr. Bates is
survived by his wife of 47 Years Mary Nell Smith Bates, of
Plainview, children Diane and Bob Lindsey of Canyon, Texas, Lane
McNelley of Pampa, Texas, Dewayne and Ginny Bates of Grovetown,
Georgia, Sharon Burfield of Plainview and Tommy Via of Plainview.
Other survivors include 18 grandchildren and several great
grandchildren.
He is
preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Bates
served his country in the United State Army, and was a native of
Amarillo, Texas where he worked as a salesman before retiring. He
and Mary made Plainview their home in 2001. He attended Jesus Name
Pentecostal Church and was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed traveling
and spending time with family. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial
service will be held at 2pm on Saturday April 26, 2014 at Jesus
Name Pentecostal Church.
