Mark Dean Shaw

Mark Dean Shaw, 63, of Conway, Arkansas passed away on October 31, 2025. He was born on June 25, 1962, in Conway, Arkansas to Joe B. Shaw and Ollie Vee Dean Shaw.

Born and raised with a passion for learning and serving others, Mark graduated from the University of Central Arkansas and dedicated his career to education. He spent his life shaping young minds and leading with kindness, patience, and purpose. Mark was a follower of Christ and lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan.

Mark had a special love for Christmas and the joy it brings—his enthusiasm for the season was matched only by his generous spirit. He found peace in cooking and sharing meals with family and friends, and he especially cherished southern gospel music, with a soft spot for the Gaithers’ timeless harmonies.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Joe B. Shaw and stepfather, Glen Bolden.

Mark is survived by his mother Ollie Vee Bolden; children, Mary Beth Darr of Columbia, Missouri and Hank (Julia) Shaw of Falls Church, Virginia; grandchildren, Parker Darr, Ryder Darr, Micah Shaw, and George Shaw; siblings, Martha Longing of Conway, and Jolynda (Dwight) Davis of Conway, Arkansas; mother of his children, Nancy Purdy; and a host of family and friends.
