Mary Jewell Ellis Harper

Mary Jewell Ellis Harper, 82, passed away on April 2, 2023 in Conway, Arkansas following an extended illness. Mary was born in Monette, Arkansas where she lived until she went to college. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree she began her teaching career in Newport, AR and later moved to the Saint Louis area where she taught for 18 years prior to becoming a technical support analyst with McDonnell Douglas and later, Maritz. She retired to Conway, Arkansas in 2013. Mary was an avid reader and loved to travel. She and her sister, Iris, traveled to Hawaii, New Zealand, the UK, France and Italy. Mary loved dogs and raised many Boston Terriers and Rottweilers throughout her life.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, James F. Harper and her parents, Wendell and Ruby Ellis. She is survived by her sister, Iris Ellis and step-son, Robert Harper.
