Melba Jean Tinker of Conway Arkansas departed this life on Friday January 11, 2019 at 84 years old. She was born on October 17, 1934 at Carlinville, IL. The daughter of the late James (Henry) and Jessie (Johnson) Partridge. She was united in marriage to the late James D. Tinker on July 24, 1953.

Melba had worked 30 + years as a registered nurse in Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas. She was an avid reader and puzzle solver. She enjoyed fishing off the dock on the river/lake and playing games and card with the girls. She found comfort in playing her keyboard or listening to gospel music. Melba was the best fish fryer in the country.

Melba is survived by three sons, Micky Tinker (Phyllis) West Virginia, Kevin Tinker (Debbie) Missouri, Keith Tinker (Serena) Texas, two step-sons Doug Tinker Missouri, Donny Tinker Texas; 2 daughters Dena Shoemaker (Bob) Tennessee, Deloise Mowdy (Charles Loveless) Arkansas, one step daughter Vanessa Mathis (Jim) Missouri. Two sisters JoAnne Walker and Mary Lee Schwallensticker of Illinois, and one brother James Partridge (Anne). Numerous loved Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Great children.

In addition to her parents and husband, Melba was preceded in death by two Granddaughters Patricia Ann Tinker and Savannah Rose Phelps.

A memorial service will be at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home on January 14, 2019 at 10:00AM.
