Melissa Rae King, age 57 of Greenbrier, Arkansas got to celebrate her birthday May 26, 2025, with her precious Lord and Savior. Melissa “Mo” or “Missy” was born May 26, 1968, in Malvern, AR. Passing before her in death were her parents Dewey Lester Daniels, Lavada Daniels Jones, and Billy F. Jones, as well as her sisters Deby Wallace and Cherri Hurley.
She lived in joy with the love of her life Tracy Thomas King for more than 40 years. She and Tracy were blessed with and made many precious memories with their son, Thomas Ryan King (Jancy) and daughter Alyssa King McCool (Josh). Gammy and Papa’s joy was made complete when those precious couples brought Rooke, Arlie, Graelyn, Jovie, Barrett and soon to be McKenna Rae into their world. Life as they knew it was never the same– it was better – it was…love in motion.
Left with treasured memories were her family, Maryse Daniels, Robert Daniels (Angie), Terri Boone (Steve), Tina Mills (Brent), Denise Austin (Gary), and Janice Alston (Chris). Nieces and nephews include Maggie Shaw (Heath), Robert Daniels, Daniel Wallace (Angie), Joshua Wallace, Stephine Hurley, Grant Hurley, Cory Patterson (Kristen), Seth Boone, Taylor Vanlandingham (Wes), Lauren Mills, Sarah Williamson (Victor), Wyatt Fowler (Caitlin), Abby Fowler, Gavin Alston (Katie), Rance Austin, and Josey Austin. Melissa also enjoyed several great nieces and nephews.
While living in Mountain Home, Melissa began her 35-year career in dentistry with Dr. Ben Petkovich as a Registered Dental Assistant. She quickly took on the role of Office Manager, and then later returned to school to pursue her dream of becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist. Following graduation, she returned to Dr. Petkovich’s office, affectionately known to her family as her dental “home”. Melissa’s career as an Office Manager and Dental Hygienist continued in Maumelle, AR at Austin Family Dentistry with Dr. Bryan Austin and Dr. Brett DeCoursey where she demonstrated the same loyalty, professionalism and love for her patients.
While she took pride in her work, God, family and friends were everything to her. Melissa loved making people happy. All were blessed by her joy, laughter and giving. Her many hobbies included fishing, camping, gardening, making wreaths, taking care of her birds, and decorating the houses of all her family. Nieces and nephews enjoyed “Aunt Mitzi” decorating their wedding venues with beautiful floral arrangements. Friends enjoyed her thoughtful gifts of kindness and telephone calls to say, “just thinking of you.”
Visitation will be held at Dial & Dudley Funeral Home located off Highway 5 in Bryant, AR at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Graveside services will be held at 10 Mile Cemetery in Lonsdale, AR. The pallbearers will be Rance Austin, Wyatt Fowler, Seth Boone, Steve Boone, Chris Alston, Brent Mills, Gary Austin, and Willard Tackett. Honorary pallbearers include Cory Patterson, Robert Daniels, Jeff McCarty, JayMac McCarty, Orry Lee, Tim Bryant, Mark Ballard, and Ben Petkovich.
