Meloney Rachael (Oaks) Kristofik, known to a lot of her friends as Mel-Mel, 61, of Bigelow, AR, went to her heavenly home on July 27, 2021. She was born July 7, 1960 in Little Rock, Ark. Meloney was preceded in death by her father, Leo Clayton Oaks, Sr, grandmother, Wilma Egger Campbell, grandparents, Paul and Estelle Oaks.
Back in the day, Meloney was one of the few women in Arkansas who could operate a backhoe (heavy equipment) and she was extremely proud of her work. She was a graduate of Parkview Magnet High School Class of 1978.
“She was Mel-Mel and she was perfect at it”
Meloney leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband, Michael Kristofik, bonus daughters Sherri Loy, Samantha Ammos, and Sabrina Kristofik, and several grandchildren, all of Perry County. Her mother, Janet E. Oaks of Mayflower, brothers, Tony and Leo “Clay” Oaks Jr. and sister Tammy (Oaks) Kinsey of Bigelow, Ar; sister, Candice Oaks of Morrilton, AR. Nieces Autumn Reeves (Jeremy) of Alexander, AR; Nikki Russell of Corsicana, TX; River Jones (Kory) of Mayflower, AR; Cherie Wilson of Berryville, AR; Megan Dusek of Midland, TX. Nephews Brad and Clint Oaks of Conway; and, Cody Dowd of Gaston, SC; and numerous great nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored with a passion; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends who loved her as much as she loved them.
As most know, Meloney was amazingly proud of where she came from, all the things her daddy taught her about loving herself and others, loved spending time on her boat, and loved knowing she could do anything on her own without help from others, especially a man. She was full of wisdom and offered it to you whether you wanted to hear it or not.
Graveside services will be held at Volman Cemetery in Bigelow, AR on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11:00 am.
The family would like to express special thanks to Conway Regional Medical Center, CCU (COVID Unit), doctors and nurses.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ‘In Memory of Meloney Kristofik’ fund by Tammy Kinsey at Centennial Bank.
