On June 25, 2014 Mel went to be with the Lord Jesus. He was 75 years old.
Mel was born April 26, 1939 in McCrory, Arkansas. He was the son of James W. & Maggie M (Bounds) Davidson.
Mel was a visionary, always looking to the future. He was an entrepreneur of numerous companies, an innovator and designer of oil exploration industry control systems, produced training videos and wrote many training manuals for drilling electricians. Mel traveled the world consulting rug companies in custom built systems designs, troubleshooting systems, systems updates. Mel is known and respected throughout the oilfield for his technical capabilities and expertise. Mel patented and manufactured one of the first electric tank-less hot water heaters.
Mel is preceded in death by: his parents (James & Maggie) 2 Brothers, (Lyndel & Clyde) 2 sisters, (Alta & Thelma) and daughter, (Sandra Jean)
Mel is survived by: 3 children Ed Stewart wife Jenny. JoAnn MacRae Husband Mac, Shela Reese.
6 Grandchildren: Melinda Schiller Husband Bryant, Nicki Ward husband Cliff, John McGeary wife Dr. Natalie Laniewicz McGeary, Andrew Stewart wife Sarah, Bobby Reese III, Katie MacRae.
5 great-grandchildren: Brody Schiller, Kaylah McGeary, Iain McGeary, Liam Stewart, Anthony McGeary.
2 brothers: Jim Davidson, JC Davidson, 1 sister Mildred McFall and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Mel will be laid to rest June 30, 2014 in Bee Branch, Arkansas
In lieu of flowers Mel requested the memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105,
