Merle Eugene Smith

Merle Eugene Smith, 58, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas passed away on October 9, 2025. He was born in Channelview, Texas on September 8, 1967, to Richard and Connie Smith.

Merle married Lillian Tamatha in 1986 and began building their lives and started their family. He was a man who truly loved life – whether he was on the water or shore banks with a fishing pole in hand, spending time with his family, or lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His kind heart, easy smile, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He worked many years in construction, and outside of work, he found his greatest joy in the simple things. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Smith and Connie England.

Merle is survived by his wife, Lillian Tamatha Smith; children, Richard Smith, Jeremy Smith, Stephen Smith; grandchildren, Skylar Grace Smith, Donnovan Blaze Smith, and Riley Lynn Smith; brothers, Richard Warren Smith and Charles England Carlton; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.
