Mitchell D. Abrams 82 of Greenbrier; Arkansas, formerly of Hendersonville, Tennessee, went home to be with Jesus on November 3, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Greenbrier, Arkansas on October 29, 1941 to Joseph Garland Abrams and Oneta Driskill Abrams. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Hayward Wallace. He is survived by his sisters Marilyn Wallace, Margie Parker and her husband Marshall Parker, and Freda Jones of Greenbrier, Arkansas; former wife Janie Abrams, numerous nieces and nephews; a host of extended family and friends; and a special friend Charlene Tucker and her family of Hendersonville, Tennessee.. Mitchell was a veteran and served in the Air Force. He graduated California Baptist University and became a teacher in Corona, California. He was extremely intelligent and an expert in many fields. He was a Bible scholar and lived for a year in Israel and spoke fluent Hebrew and also Spanish. However his greatest talent and love was music which led him to the Nashville area. He could play almost any instrument, but he was a master guitarist. He loved country music and square dancing but his love was writing, singing, and playing gospel music. He wrote over 100 gospel songs. For 18 years, he was the personal assistant of old time country legend Hank Snow, and Mitchell also played backup on the Grand Old Gospel Hour. He is now in Heaven singing praises to his Lord. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be Wednesday November 8, 2023 at 10:00am at Springhill Baptist Church, Greenbrier, Arkansas, with Bro. Ed Stephenson officiating. The family will play recordings of his songs at 9:30 am. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Marshall Parker, Matthew Parker, Dean Wallace, Hardy Wallace, Eric Young and Butch Robinson. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Duane Wallace, and B.J. (Joe) Abrams.
