Ola Mae Hawks

Ola Mae Hawks, 88 of Greenbrier, Arkansas passed away on January 1, 2023. She was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on December 4, 1934 to David and Mollie Hilliard.
She was a dedicated member of Springhill Baptist Church, past president of Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce, Volunteer of the Year - Greenbrier Chamber, past member of Conway Progressive Club, Greenbrier Lions Club, and Greenbrier Booster Club. Her love for her Church, community, and volunteerism can be seen and heard about through our community. She was extremely proud of her participation in getting the Bradford Pear trees planted at Greenbrier High School, getting the Welcome to Greenbrier sign installed, organizing the first Greenbrier Christmas parade and many other projects. The last decade she had focused her attention on the Ola and John Hawks Senior Wellness and Activity Center in Conway and the Greenbrier Senior Center.
She is preceded by her loving husband of 54 years, John Hawks; parents, David and Mollie Hilliard; brothers Leonard Hilliard and Russell Hilliard; sisters, Betty Manley and Ella Hungerford and son-in-law Lanny Grissom.
Ola is survived by her four children, Jim Hawks and wife Georgette, David Hawks and wife Donna, Diana Kirkland and husband Phil, and Stephan Hawks and wife Stephanie; 9 grandchildren, Nikki King and husband Huey, Daniel Hawks and wife Ashleigh, Spencer Hawks and wife Xochilt, Casey Hawks, Matthew Grissom and wife Haley, Bailey Lacy and husband James, Hailey Prevulkaj and husband Arbnor, Lauren Hawks, and Jonathan Hawks; bonus grandchildren Sarai Beth Fureigh and husband Ben, and Skylar Kirkland and wife Katie; 17 great grandchildren and one on the way; brother W.D. Hilliard; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Springhill Baptist Church.
Funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Springhill Baptist Church with interment following at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
If desired, memorials can be made to the Ola and John Hawks Senior Wellness and Activity Center in Conway, the Debra Robinson Senior Center in Greenbrier or Alzhiemer’s Arkansas.
