Orlene Ruth Patton Profile Photo
Orlene Ruth Patton, 83, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born at her Grandpa Pipkin’s homeplace in Perryton, Texas on July 19, 1941 to the late Orville and Malolah Fullbright and preceded her in death was her brother, George Gaylon Fullbright.

Orlene was a daughter to a traveling preacher in her younger years. She shared many stories of her and her siblings, George Gaylon and Cloetta, and their time at her Grandpa Pipkin’s home. She attended Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas on a music scholarship.

Orlene spent many years of her life as a crop farmer's wife while raising her three children, Donna, Diana and Shawn. Together, their family produced many rodeos across the state of Texas as “Triple M Rodeo Company”. Her children recognize her for her hard work and dedication she put into all the sewing of the flags and shirts for the rodeo.

She was a woman of many talents. Alongside farming and rodeoing, Orlene served many years as a bank teller in Texas and in Arkansas after moving to Arkansas in 1983. She and her family raised beef and dairy cattle in Quitman. Like many of her family members, Orlene never liked to settle. She was always looking to do more in her life. She enjoyed interior remodeling of homes in the area and fancied wallpaper and painting the most.

Orlene had an eye for natural beauty. She loved the simple things in life the most. She is what some would call a “southern peach”. She enjoyed making others feel good about themselves and did so as a beautician specializing in pedicures. Shopping at TJMaxx, hosting tea parties, gardening and growing flowers, and spending time with her family made her world go round. Her grandchildren were fond of her “surprise snacks” and her annual “bunny trail” each Easter.

January 24, 2018, Orlene wedded her husband, Gary Patton of Wooster, AR. The last seven years were spent traveling many miles together, seeing many sights and making memories together. She was a devoted wife and Christian.

Orlene is survived by her loving husband, Gary Patton; sister, Cloetta (Mike) Spearman; children, Donna (Jason) Harris, Diana (Randy) Duncan, Shawn (Misty) Martin; stepchildren, Todd (Tammie Dawn) Patton, Jennifer (Daniel) Merritt; grandchildren, Blaine (Jynna) Harris, Lacey (Ty) Houston, Hunter (Whitney) Martin, Hadley (Jaylynn) Martin, Hayden Martin, Holden Martin, Kelly (Kalen) Horton, Coltin Patton, Addison Merritt, Olivia Merritt; great grandchildren, Kason Harris, Kynlee Harris, Teagan Houston, Hagan Houston, Kentley Martin, Kazen Martin, Tillar Martin, Trippen Martin, and Talin Patton.
