Peggy Sue Iry
April 12, 1938 — January 29, 2025
Peggy Sue Iry, 86, of Greenbrier, passed away on January 29, 2025. She was born April 12, 1938 in Ewing, TX to the late Clifford Bates and Eunice Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Iry; son, David Iry; sisters, Voncil Gardner and Molly Wells; brothers, Leroy Bates, Bobby Sam Bates and Willis Bates.
She is survived by daughter, Missy Tillman; five grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Bertie Stephens; and brother, Pete Bates (Rita).
Peggy was a high school basketball star. She spent her career in banking. She enjoyed fishing, reading, playing bridge and bingo. She also enjoyed watching a good Cowboys game. She loved to give and help others. She loved spending time with her family.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 8 from 2 – 4 p.m. Contact Missy Tillman for details.
