Peggy Joyce Sanson

Peggy Joyce Sanson passed away December 19, 2024. She was born November 24, 1932, to J.B. (Major) and Arlie (Bill) Clifton. She was the oldest of four girls and grew up in the Springhill Community. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at Springhill Baptist Church at an early age and kept that faith during her lifetime. She was a member of Happy Hollow Baptist Church for the 74 years she lived there.
Peggy graduated from Greenbrier High School and then Arkansas State Teachers College. She taught elementary school in the Enola School District for almost 30 years.
Peggy was married to Kenneth Sanson for almost 74 years, and they spent those 74 years on their farm in Happy Hollow. She was a devoted wife to Kenneth, and mother to three children, and Granny to 10 grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Kenneth; and their three children, Jimmy Sanson (Carolyn), Debbie Creswell, and Karen Simon (Rick). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren,19 great grandchildren and her sisters, JoAnn Lester and Jackie Clark (Don). She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Janie Tyler; and her grandson, Robbie Simon.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home, with a funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox and Bro. Dustin Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Holland.
