Randy C. Whitten, 80, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, passed away on October 11, 2026. A true cowboy, gifted storyteller, and gentleman in every sense, Randy lived a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and stories so remarkable they hardly seemed believable. Yet Randy never needed to embellish. The truth was entertaining enough.

A native Texan, Randy rodeoed as a young man and maintained a lifelong love of horses, mules, and livestock. Few things brought him greater joy than a day spent horseback.

After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, Randy enjoyed an exceptional sales career with Skil/Bosch. His impeccable work ethic, quick wit, and genuine charm never faded in retirement. Always one to stay busy, he enjoyed collecting and trading old pocketknives. He also loved cruising around town in his beloved red ’59 Willys pickup, affectionately known as his “hotrod,” with his faithful dog, Lady, riding beside him.

For 54 years, Randy and Betsy shared life’s adventures side by side. From the earliest days of their courtship, Randy knew Betsy was the one. A loving father to Anda and Jordan, Randy especially treasured being “Poppa” to his grandsons, Drew and Cole.

Randy’s storytelling brought family history and incredible adventures to life. His unwavering loyalty to the Razorbacks, despite the inevitable heartbreak, proved he knew the true meaning of unconditional love.

A devoted and active member of Greenbrier First Methodist Church, Randy faithfully served his church and community.

Randy was preceded in death by his daughter, Anda Jane Whitten Block; his parents, Clovis and Ann Whitten; his brothers, Jerry and John Whitten; his sister, Margret Whitten-Blair; and his nephews, Joel and Paul Blair.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy Whitten; his son and daughter-in-law, Jordan and Erin Whitten; his grandsons, Drew and Cole Block; his son-in-law, Chris Block; and his nieces, nephews, and their spouses: John and Stephanie Blair, Anna and Scott Krenzien, Lisa and Norbert Gromelski, John Michael and Anna Whitten, and Jerry and Linda Whitten.

Though his earthly ride has come to an end, the love he gave, the faith he lived, and the stories he shared will carry on for generations.

Celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Greenbrier First Methodist Church.

Private military burial will be at 11:00am on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
