Rebecca "Becky" Jane Mccollum
September 21, 1937 — July 7, 2024
Rebecca “Becky” Jane McCollum, 86, of Springhill, was united with the Lord on July 7, 2024. She was born on September 21, 1937, in Martinville, AR to the late, Emil and Vera Martin.
Becky was raised on a dairy farm in Martinville, she started school at Wooster until the 8th grade and moved to Greenbrier in 9th grade. She was very proud of her graduating class of 1955, where she was voted most likely to succeed. Becky said before, she felt like she was successful by marrying her high school sweetheart, Bill McCollum and having his children. Becky was so proud of her family and had such a servant’s heart. She made friends everywhere she went and enjoyed going the extra mile for those she loved. Becky was quite the historian and loved researching and sharing genealogy and pictures with everyone. She blessed so many people with her photography. Deemed as a short order cook, she was one of the best homemade bakers in the county. Becky could cure any blue mood with pie and a smile.
She is preceded in death by, her parents; her husband of 45 years, Bill McCollum; and one great grandchild.
Becky is survived by her children, Cheryl (Rick) Sager, Deanna (Richard) Frank, and Bill Bob (Tammy) McCollum; grandchildren, Kristen Hardcastle, Will Roberts, Rachael (Brady) Mercer, Dillion (Kaleigh) Frank, Lacie (Michael) Mayo, and Lindsey McCollum; and twenty – four, great grandchildren.
Becky’s funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 10th at 2:00 pm, at Springhill Baptist Church, with a visitation on Tuesday, July 9th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm also at Springhill Baptist Church. The burial was at Martinville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Martinville Cemetery Association at PO Box 502, Damascus, AR 72039.
