Rebecca May (Becky) Yancey Gray

Rebecca May (Becky) Yancey Gray went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 14, 2025, in Greenbrier, AR at the age of 72 with her family by her side.
Becky was born on Oct 6, 1952, to the parents of Otis and Madge Yancey. She was the middle child of three girls. In August of 1998, she married the love of her life, Bill Gray where they made their home in Guy, Arkansas. She was a devoted mother of five children that she loved dearly and was their daily prayer warrior. Her children blessed her with seven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Guy, Arkansas, for 50 years. Becky served many roles at the church from feeding the seniors, cleaning, baking, mentoring others, or whatever service was needed to help serve the Lord. She was not only her children’s prayer warrior but a warrior of prayer for anyone needing prayers.
Besides being an exemplary Christian, her second heart was with her job of 42 years at Guy-Perkins School. Throughout those years she worked in several departments, but finally settled in the Special Educational department. Becky loved all the children she encountered but the two she loved dearly were Sandy and Caroline.
Becky is proceeded in death by a daughter, Tammy Kay Rooney; parents,Otis and Madge Yancey; and son in love, Calvin Jones III.
Becky leaves behind her husband, Bill Gray of 26 years; four children, James (Amelia) Rooney of Guy, AR, Rebecca Jones of Milan, TN, Terrie(Jason) Strain of Quitman, AR, and Steve (Sarah) Rooney of Snowball, AR; seven grandchildren, Daniel (Lesley) Strain of Quitman, AR, Ethan (Laura) Rooney of Marshall, AR, Savanna Jones of Milan, TN, Grace and Alyson Rooney of Guy, AR, Calvin “CJ” Jones IV of Milan, TN, and Emma Rooney of Marshall, AR; five great grandchildren, Kasey and Lacey Strain, Addilyn Lovett, Bo Glover and Bristol Rooney; two sisters, Annetta (Gayle) Holmes of Sherwood, AR and Peggy (Wendell) Williams of Vilonia, AR; and many close friends.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at Seeds of Love for taking wonderful care of Becky and loving her like she was their mom.
Pallbearers: James Rooney, Steve Rooney, Jason Strain, Daniel Strain, Ethan Rooney and CJ Jones.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Guy, AR.
Services will be at 2:00pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Guy, AR with burial at Old Texas cemetery.
